Klingon warriors can take a lot. These combat hardened battle lovers punish their bodies and all around them until respect and honor has been won. It’s been said a Klingon curses the very air about them before going into battle. It’s not known if they do the same with a raging snow storm roaring onto the battlefield. If so, do they ever take time to build a snowman? I’d say it’s highly doubtful any self respecting Klingon would be a fan of Disney’s chilly epic, Frozen, but stranger things do happen. Frosty The Snowman wouldn’t have much of a place in the culture of the warrior either, but one can dare to dream a frigid dream.
Rura Penthe In Springtime
Klingons love calling the most frigid place they can think of ‘Rura Penthe In Springtime’ – a little cultural joke when it gets way too cold for even the most frosty tastes. Ah, but the proverb, Revenge is a dish best served cold, gives us a clear idea of just how much cold they can withstand. Indeed, when the menacing Khan said it to Captain Kirk, it was a fine example of one cold crack made by one cold son of a bitch.

Engage in a little cultural exchange yourself by spreading around the culture of the Klingons. The next time a friend tries to show you up when it comes to plunging temperatures, merely look at them dramatically and say, Rura Penthe in Springtime is always lovely. Don’t you think?
