Star Trek gave us 79 original episodes. In 1966, we were introduced to the scheming Klingons and enigmatic Romulans. We saw bizarre creatures eat into solid rock – a Horta. Remember Tribbles? They’re furry balls of fuzz. They purr hypnotically and mate constantly. The little critters are born pregnant. Trek’s original 79 tales are where we draw so much of our foundation and love of Star Trek. Creator Gene Roddenberry gave us a science fiction creation which still challenges us over 50 years from its birth.
